I am currently running Windows XP SP3 32-bit. My dad got me Vista Ultimate x86 (32-bit). Naturally I want to check it out but with the varying reviews of Vista I’m worried about what will happen if I don’t like it and want to go back. Will Vista overwrite my XP? Can I create a system restore point (I’d use my PC Tools’ Desktop Maestro for that) and go back to XP that way? I still have my XP install disk; would it be better to install Vista and if I don’t like it just re-install XP? My dad also mentione something about a double-boot or something but didn’t explain (he gives me too much credit). Any suggestions, hints or ideas?

I saw some software going very relatively cheap on the Internet, I contacted the Software manufacturer, who assured me, and STILL assures me that the Software house I gave my order to is a legitimate reseller and that I won’t have any problems getting my money back. BUT, I find their website very unnerving (I’ll explain later).

I ordered this software from this company then cancelled when I learnt that they didn’t have any in stock (even though their website said they had 6 copies).

However, it seems that their website takes money straight away, as soon as you’ve placed your order.

They confirmed that they cancelled the order, and even on their website, in my account section, it shows that the order was cancelled, yet they, in my opinion had no right to take my money.

I’m kinda panicking at the moment because this all happened over Christmas and New Year and they are uncontactable. And what’s unnerving is that I watch their website, and the quantities for that software go from 6 to 10, down to 8, then 6, then back up to 10 ??

I KNOW that they aren’t getting any stock (because they told me) so it seems as though it automatically goes up and down to give fake quantities.

I’ve reported them to the Trading Standards as I was VERY upset that they just took my money and NO software.

I called them and they said that it’d take 2 days for the automated refund to give me my money back.

but the trust has gone out the window.

When running the program, it informs me that “The Maestro music font is not installed on your computer. Please re-run the Notepad installer.”

I don’t have the Notepad installer (not sure why), so how can I either download the installer or fix the problem. Thanks.
